The Titr typeface has long been a top choice for designers when crafting serious headlines. This enduring preference served as the inspiration for the creation of the Ray font family.
a typeface designed to meet the need for a robust and dignified style suitable for commercial and advertising purposes. With a strong and cohesive structure, short ascenders and descenders, smooth surfaces, and numerous sharp angles, Ray captivates the viewer's attention.
It is worth noting that Ray is equally effective in journalistic contexts, offering remarkable versatility and functionality.
Ray reimagines the familiar forms of the Naskh script in a contemporary style, paired with innovative proportions. The Regular weight of this font was specifically designed for use in advertising copy and correspondence, resulting in a style that is less exaggerated, more rounded, and friendlier in tone.
Unconventionally, we developed the Regular weight after completing the Black weight, ensuring harmonious proportions across the family. This reverse design approach allowed us to uncover fresh insights during the process. Work on the Ray typeface began in 2015, with the seven weights of the family completed by 2018.
The Ray typeface supports multiple languages, including Persian, Arabic, Urdu, Kurdish, Jawi, and English. For the Latin characters, we integrated the Alegreya Sans font, which is licensed under the OFL.
