Changing package name & logo should be enough. Beware, certain apps have Firebase dependency. And changing package name will throw error. So register a new project in firebase & get the google-services.json file and it should do the trick.
I'm going to talk from my experience.... Yes, you can, but as the others said before me remember to rename the package and also generate new .json file from firebase.... In fact this is what you will found in all the documentations, just follow the instructions and that's all.... Remember to get the SHA1 when you create the new firebase project, to be able to use the login option or another things.
