How are things in the country you are in?

Sadly I'm one of the unlucky 1,372 (as of March 15th) that has it here in the UK. Thankfully just mild symptoms and I'm not in a super high risk group so should recover fine. I have to self-quarantine for 14 days though so that is going to suck, but gives me plenty of time to spend here on Babiato :)

The Government here aren't really doing anything to stop the spread yet, what's happening where you are?

Hope it goes everything good for u bro.. I think the numbers behind the coronavirus are not really what they declare.
Thanks bro. Yeah I think the numbers are way way higher than what anyone is saying. Most people here aren't being tested unless they have other medical conditions.

Get well soon! Here in Bulgaria for now we have only 50 cases but this will explode in less then a week. Our government is ran by a mafia guy and all of the politicians are idots and below, so nothing good ahead.
Lets take advantage of the situation and bring some value to babiato :)
Thanks bro :)

Hi there,

Really sorry to hear that you've come down with the virus. Wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery.

Moved from the UK to Italy about four years ago. It's really bad here with the number of infections - now running at around 24,700. We have a lockdown in place so no-one can leave the house unless it's absolutely necessary (food shopping or pharmacy visit) and that's only a single person leaving. Sounds drastic and I guess it is, but it's definitely the right thing to do.

The UK government should be more transparent with what their plans are and release the scientific information on why they're not considering putting a lockdown on the country. I think they should do it sooner rather than later so that they don't end up in the same situation as here in Italy with nearly 2000 deaths. Hospitals are struggling already.

On a lighter note... at least we have tons of loo rolls left :)

Best wishes again,

Steve.

Hey Steve,

Thanks for the message. Yeah I've been following the events in Italy with sadness. I agree the lockdown they have done there is absolutely vital. I think we will have the same sort of numbers as Italy in the next week or 2 unfortunately.

And haha send some my way they are so scarce here lol.

It's really strange - the Italians are usually quite... feisty, and I thought they'd react differently to being told that they are now all in quarantine but they've been great. Most people seem to be sticking with it and everyone in the supermarkets are calm - queueing patiently outside to be let inside and then just buying what they need with no panic buying. Hopefully, it'll last the further we get into the quarantine. Love Italy and the Italian people but they usually like to rebel slightly against rules.

It definitely looks as though the UK is around 2 - 3 weeks behind us and I think we were about 2 months behind China. Going by that we're hoping that infection rates will start to reduce around mid to late April.

Lol, would definitely send you some if you could swap it for some fish and chips! Love Italian food but miss being able to grab a bag of fish and chips on a cold day.

All the best,

Steve.

Sadly if the same measures get implemented here I can't see the public reaction being the same.

The Globe
Here in Sweden its about 1100 found infected with corona, 6 of them have died. In Sweden they only test those who seek emergency care, so the number of infected is much higher. My whole family is sick but I don't think we have corona but just the common cold. but you never know! In our vicinity, there are about 175 found infected by corona, but it can be significantly more when many do like us and stay at home. Our government is as stupid as a sack of potatoes, messy decisions and they only listen to a single professor and decide only what he says. "Don't close schools, it costs too much!"Our neighboring countries Norway and Denmark have closed schools and other things, they have closed the borders, but Sweden is just waiting! :-(
Keep out and take care of each other!
