Help setting up wordpress magazine style theme

Hi guys, I just transitioned over from Blogspot to WordPress and am trying to install a magazine theme on to my website. However, i am a complete noob and dont know how to build it like a magazine.
If anyone is free and would like to help a brother out I would highly appreciate it.
And, yes I am self-hosted and all the themes I am trying are from babiato

Install the demo contents of your wp site (if any )
Then

  1. Log in to your account at Blogger.com.
  2. Next to the name of your blog, click the right drop-down menu and click “Settings.”
  3. On the left-hand menu, click “Other” at the very bottom:
    Blogger.com
  4. Under “Blog Tools,” click the “Export Blog” link:

Export Blog


5.In the pop-up window, click “Download Blog,” and save the XML file that’s generated:

Download Blog


Then go to Tool > import on wp
or download this https://wordpress.org/plugins/blogger-importer-extended/
and activate it

Then do tools > import > blogspot

Now, set the blogspot post properly as they may not look same as previously
