Thanks for your reply. I have reported the account to Facebook as abused. You will really have to be more clear about what steps you took, and if they didn't work, what was the error/s faced?
It's called phishing (not hacking) if they've got your account's access due to an easy password or due to your mistake of not securing your account with a secondary recovery method or because one of your passwords was leaked online and you have that same password on all of your major social media accounts. Facebook, Instagram are first targets almost always.
Some things that might work right now:
1. Report your hacked account.
2. Fill out the form that Facebook provides you if you fail to recover it by all the methods.
Some things that will help you avoid such situations in the future:
1. Use a service like "LastPass", and keep different passwords for all your accounts. Data breaches happen and keeping one password for all accounts is VERY risky.
2. Set multiple recovery methods. Phone verification and any Authenticator app verification work very well.
Hope this helps,
Thank you!
