I lost admin privileges in wordpress

Hi there, after i installed wordfence from here I lost my admin privileges. I tried everything, I follow tens of tutorials. SQL was OK. Everything was O)K except I lost access to the admin. Any thoughts why?

Bad wordfence setup. If you have ftp/ssh/file manager access remove wordfence folder from your install then you should lookup the whole wordfence database options and see what's wrong before installing wordfence again. Make sure you also check wordfence transients.

Maybe you switch on some security setting during wordfence setup.

Deactivate the plugins from cpanel and login to your wp dashboard

I did that before i installed wordfence, I use wordfence asistant to remove everything and then i installed fresh wordfence, immediately lost admin.

You have withelist option or you have 2fa without backend support either way you have an option that shouldn't be active. Cannot say from memory which one.

You can disable or bypass the Wordfence plugin by renaming the folder (or deleting it) via FTP in wp-themes/plugins. Then try to login again.

Check the database prefix. If its same as mentioned in the wp-config.php and in the database on phpmyadmin.

Also check the user table, if the entry exist change the password. Wordpress basically uses MD5 hash for its password security so you can easily generate in from any live site and push directly into the table entity field.
Don't panic, your account database and the files are safe you just need to get the access back to use it.
