Totally agree with you but who to ddos back? You cannot just go in the wild and shot at random just because you're assuming that someone did it. Usually DDoS-ers are bragging about their so called "victory" so unless someone or more sent an email saying something like "see what happens if you don't listen" you're totally blind.
And that 4000Gb DDoS attack was made with a botnet 100%. You can find a Command Center of botnets by doing some greyhat hacking, analyzing all IPs in the attack, try to access their RAT and find the CC ip then correlate and attack that CC only (or CCs if there are more than one) to shutdown the botnet. This attack you can only do with a botnet also. Is there anyone here on babiato that have a botnet and enough time to analyze Gb of logs?

I can take down almost 99% but we need confirmed target,
The best way is to learn who is providing the ddos service and get confirmation or log there, (highly doubt they give out info as I don't give client's info as well :/)
