I am working online, and have made hundreds of blogs through the years.
Mostly for others, but also 20+ for myself throughout the years...
I have a good feeling of how I like my blogs to look, and that's not full of links, and full of banners and so on..
It looks like sh**, and the visitors are getting a bad user experience. I know Google agrees with me on this.
That being said, we naturally are all making these sites with the mindset that they should be making some money for us.
So its always a tricky balancing act.
Personally I add an Amazon banner and 1-4 text links on a post maximum.
I try to add the Amazon banner approx 20-30% down in the text, so most visitors see it.
The text links I spread out through the content, and I only use relevant links. No automatic plugins that make a gazillion links on all pages leading away from the site.
Also no Adsense at all.
I feel it lowers the speed of the sites, and also I feel the Adsense money is crap.
If the blog I am making is good enough and have the required visitors, I maybe add Ezoic Ads (maybe!) but again, it depends on the money because most times I feel that ads are not paying me enough and gives a bad user experience, so I prefer to not use them at all.
My reasoning behind this post is simply that it could be interesting to see what we are doing differently, and maybe if we all could learn something new that would be great too
