name and slug are 2 different things. Slug is an unique identifier for every product and you cannot have 2 products with same slug.
Yet you can have 2 products with same name and different slug

As far as I see the slug is autogenerated from the name.
You can add a product with a different name and edit it after (you can also edit the slug after creation)

Yes, it is created automatically. But the editing later is something troubling for the seller

You have so many options in front of your eyes:
save as draft
save and unpublish
Can't you just make the changes and AFTER THAT publish the product?

Upload and replace files in their folders (folder structure included) - Tested only with latest 5.5.3 version
Added extra check where Product name "Test & test" would initially have been turned into "test--test" slug now it turns into "test-test" slug

please is it possible to add some customization to the script?
1. Adding a special note space for some of the categories
2. adding an option for customers to be able to upload files at the checkout option page ( but not for all categories.

There is no more addon folder location. Files are spread trough the script when you upload an addon.
