I don't think this plugin is what caused havoc on your install. I would do a cross-check against vulnerability db and 0-day vulnerability db for every single plugin and theme that is installed. And if indeed this plugin was the culprit then it's developer's fault. I would suggest you to extract all the files and create a new archive with the extracted files.
Also if you use a shared hosting it might not be your fault and the injection may come from another site.
As a reply for both comments I can't imagine how a malware could have been injected with only 5 lines of code modified from which 4 are assignments of 'registered' to variables and other is check for registered.

Don't trust your web hosting server 100%. I have same experience with you and when I talked with customer support they said check my windows, scan my computer. Might be my computer have virus. Well, that BS you know. How can I save virus inside my computer which full of my work, data etc.. They all fxxxx stupid.
So, I decide to change from shared hosting to vps, first I try with Digital Ocean and others, now I stay with Layerstack because they allow mail hosting without using mailgun which Layerstack didn't block your mail port. It's quite expensive, but it worth it. If you choose to use cheap web hosting, you need to consider the problem you will get. So, all my work, I save here and I got no bad experience like last time where someone can access email account.
I think you should change your web server and go to other providers and don't take interested with the security they provided unless if you have vps or you have root, install your own security and setup blacklist IP address. There is a lot you can do.

I just follow up the guide and compare the code (where to put the nulled code) with VS Code, and after test with my site, everything look perfect. Just want to contribute something with my free time.
