Recently, I found a site and there was an option to "Add site"? what is this? If I add my site to this site will I get backlinks or do they bookmark my site on the internet. Sometimes ago I met a site as same as this. They've told I would get backlinks when my site is added to it. Are these things real or fake? will it harm my site's reputation if added? Are these backlinks valuable?

If the sites are properly organized and their database is organized and user experience is good then why not, they are also providing service which you can benefit from.
For eg, i look at onepagelove. com for some inspiration or awwwards. com for the same, they serve the purpose, listing gets the author backlink and user gets information.
