- I work on a local server and I have all the necessary requirements, but despite this, I also encountered such a problem as importing a demo, the problem was that I had a child activated. After I activated the main "theme", the demo import worked like a clock. Hope it helps))

Hello! The easiest way is to use a plugin to generate a child theme. I used it and was satisfied.
After it is generated, you can safely delete it!

EDIT : when I use demo importer (download a theme), I've got a "INTERNAL SERVER ERROR : 500"
And the header theme demo is totally unsctructured and the slider has disappeared.
I put memory_limit to 512.
Do you have another solution,please?
