I was hired by a local company to remake their old website using Elementor which is around 70 pages on September 2020.

The deadline was supposed to be 1st of Jan 2021 but it was only stated verbally.

My problem is every single design require my Director’s approval and the rate of his checking and ordering amendments is far slower than my rate of designing. Basically, he got a lot of checking needs to be done before I can amend and officially publish the website.

Right now, he is somewhat blaming me that I am slow and my job might be at risk.

May I know does anyone can give me advice how to deal with this problem?

Thank you

My Two Cents for your situation:

1. The deadline was supposed to be 1st of Jan 2021 but it was only stated verbally.

Does not change a thing, Always get everything in writing like deadlines and always mentions subject to this and that...

2. My problem is every single design require my Director’s approval and the rate of his checking and ordering amendments is far slower than my rate of designing. Basically, he got a lot of checking needs to be done before I can amend and officially publish the website.

My suggestion to make a tracker for example Total pages 70, Pages Completed 20, Pages Sent for approval 20, Pages with dependencies causing the dalay 30. This way with every design you send for approval you will also be able to make your point.

While doing a Job never deal with official matters verbally, Email is your best friend and backup of that email as well...

3. Right now, he is somewhat blaming me that I am slow and my job might be at risk.

Unfortunately, in Job Market it always happens like that, They want someone to blame... Even if you do complete the tasks in time or perform good they want to keep constant pressure on you...

My advise stay relaxed do what you can... its your attitude which will save your job not work... Be smart and play smart ;) If you loose job find another one... This will not be the end of the world... Cheers...
