Can I use this domain "chattr.com" since there is already a company "chat.com" and 'chat" is their trademark also. Can I use ' chatter.com" .. we (chatter.com and chat.com) are providing same service. Is there any legal complication??

Chat is a common word but whatsapp is not
if you name a website as whatsapper and the website provide anything related to whatsapp its a trademark issue domain will be takendown

A simple rule of thumb, do not use any part of a trandemarked word within your domain name.

General English word like 'chat', is fine.
Whatsappblablabla is NOT fine.

If a certain word is a name of a company, double check if it is a common dictionary term or not, if yes, that's ok.
