I don't believe it's really a permissions issue, the group is correct, folders 755 and files 644

hi , this is wrong, the root main folder must be ./drop-files/ and not .../drop-files/
in the error msg, u can see it
"Fatal error: Failed to create session save path directory"
and Edit:
drop-file foler must be in the same place like public_html to work!

This path (...) is fictitious. The folder is in the location you mentioned.hi , this is wrong, the root main folder must be ./drop-files/ and not .../drop-files/
in the error msg, u can see it

I forgot to mention that I am getting the error at the url https://mysite.com/ajax.php. The app is unable to communicate with the server.

I think the main problem exists at auto dispatching file called "cron.php" any one can decrypt this file the whole secrete will be displayed .
