Not sure it has to do with the Pro plugin from here. Even the current free version of Elementor is crashing websites, returning 508 and white screen of death. It is an Elementor problem.

Elementor is just sh*t right now. I use the free version on a website and had to message support via the official WordPress website. Two days in and they have no idea. Worse is that it crashed the website totally and it is generating a 508 error, even only when Elementor is activated and other plugins are deactivated.
What/where are you running WordPress as that 508 error is one of two things.
Resource limit reached, which even with just Elementor running it shouldn't max you out.
It shouldn't be any issues with your own cPanel/hosting/server, however I would just double check there are no issues your side so you can narrow it down to it actually being an issue with Elementor itself.
Or the other error which is Loop Detected, whether there is an issue within Elementor's code or something else that you have on your setup that is looping back and forth and can't actually complete what it is supposed to be doing.
If you do a simple search online for 508 error you can find many results about the two errors and fixes that you can try and see if they give you any joy in fixing anything.
If it is down to Elementor, then it will have to be something they fix themselves and we will just have to wait until that is done.
Elementor editor won't load, safe mode does not help, and theme builder shows error, can someone please help?

Be more helpful if you get any error message, show it all and where it says it relates too.
Checked and tested and all works fine.
