Yes, I started with MAMP. I am going to try Local & Kinsta has released their own version for a local environment which looks interesting too.

That's most probably because one of the other plugins is in conflict with Elementor, I get that now and then, you can try go to cpanel------>files manager------>public.html------>error log (and see what plugin causing it).

If you are not comfortable with cpanel the other way (might take a lot of time depending on how many plugins you have), deactivate all plugins, except Elementor and Elementor pro, then activate the plugins 1 by 1 and as you activate 1 try use the elementor editor until you find the one causing this.
Does anyone have an issue with importing templates? I get the following error when clicking on get started

That doesn't really tell me a lot tbh. Is the page you are trying to access in the list of pages, if so check the permalink slug.
