I got an email from the developer just an hour after installing the software regarding a DMCA strike.
to your hosting. That email tho it contains all required details it doesn't contain an electronic signature for authenticity. Nor the name of sender is identical with the name at the bottom.
Also HE CANNOT ask for supplementary details on a takedown notice. "Where you have downloaded" is not your concern to help him identify all internet sources of his software. That's why he asks payment in exchange of his software: to cover eventual expenses of finding and taking down eventual illegal distribution.
Edit: and about his legal department if he were representing a company he wouldn't sell the software on codecanyon.

I use something called search text in files to search all files for things like links and callbacks etc. Once it has located the files you can edit or remove what you are looking for. Hope this helps some of you
