I can't move my wordpress site to another domain

Hello guys,

I tried updraftplus (free), duplicator and all in one migration, but none of them worked.

I download the backup of the site. I am trying to enter and install in the other domain. I received an "incorrect username and password" error in updraftplus and duplicator plugins. All in one migration didn't work either.

What am I doing wrong? Do you have a tutorial suggestion?

With all-in-one, make sure you use the previous login credential linked to your backup and not your new installation.
Its a backup, so its the perfect copy of your previous install on a new domain, using all old credentials

When I tried, I login with my old wordpress login information but I login to my old wordpress site.

first you install your new wordpress install
2nd, you install all-in-one extension
3nd, you select "import" from the All-in-One wordpress migration pane:



4nd, you select your import file and you import them on your new wordpress installation.
The process will rewrite the DB and put your previous content on your fresh install.

After completion, you login with you "old_site" credential and dont forget permalinks.

I saw only one prob with All-in-One migration and its only when you backup a wp website on "plesk" and you try to import into "cpanel".

do exactly as @GuiltyConscience said, usually errors are if the database is too huge to be backed up, yes even small site can have huge database due to many reasons and need to be optimized before moving, but since you can't log in after migrating, means database rewrite was ok and all you have to do is to log in with your old credentials.

If you tried duplicator pro, which is the best and simplest and failed, then maybe you have a problem somewhere else.

if you still having problems, try to deactivate all plugins before you try another tool, some plugin may cause the problem.

Yes, it's simple. I only use this plugin. For backup, auto backup schedule or move.

BackupBuddy I mean DUPLICATOR PRO!! Not backupBuddy sorry. Duplicator pro is alright several options for transfer and useful php script which will make it easy to restore. You don't need to install wordpress on your new domain. Only backup your site using BackupBuddy, download zip file and php installer script and upload both to a new location and run the script. easy really, works great for me.

This is so easy dear, jusy install duplicator pro and create package , after creating package successful download both files, one is package file and second is installer.php file. Now upload these both files at another domain using any ftp or using Cpanel own file manager and then type yourdomain/installer.php and then create new database follow rest of the procedure, WP username and password Will be same as it is and you can login here.

I hope you understand

I use BackupBuddy plugin over 1 year. I had no problems any process.

One last question;

In the new site, theme icons are disappear. I use Woodmart theme with wp bakery page builder. Any solution for this problem?

example: "wishlist-icon wd-tools-icon" is missing

Permalink done?
regenerate thumbnails?
