I've just installed Shoptimizer on a demo server to test this and everything works fine, including the Search on version v2.5.5, what version are you running?

Have you disabled all plugins to see if the problem still occurs? Have you done any modifications or anything to any files? Have you had a play around with the header options and does the problem still occur?

If you could send me your website, I could look further into this to see if its a CSS problem to start with. It's difficult to diagnose without website access.

Code:
[USERSID=118079] URL [/USERSID]

Glad you found a solution. Perhaps add a few different cache rules and exclude some files. Might be worth adding a cache rule to exclude anything in the URL starting with ''?s=''
