I know the argument about negative SEO not working anymore and while some may disagree I would still be willing to try it against a competitor.

Are there any software / guide I can use to automate this?

Check blackhat world. But don't bother. This is really annoying. You can easily invest the money and energy into building your own quality content instead of envy and sh** on others.

I think he refers in order to launch a negative SEO campaign on a competitor.

This could easily become a sh** throwing competition and your competition could easily prove to be better at throwing sh** - negative SEO.

If you feel a competitor is doing better than you, by all means copy from their success sheet and understand what they are doing differently rather launching a negative SEO campaign against a competitor. It doesn't make sense.
