Hi, i'm looking to upgrade my existing ssd hosting to nvme ssd cpanel hosting. Anyone here can share with me their good experience switching to nvme from normal ssd? A friend of mine told me to get nvme hosting which far better than normal ssd...is it true?

Also can anyone suggest a reliable & affordable nvme hosting provider?

Hey,

I am using HostKoala in Singapore and Las Vegas region for 2 years and I'm happy with them, they're affordable and reliable. Plans start at $5/yr for DirectAdmin 1GB NVMe and 100GB Bandwidth.

If you decide do go with them please use my affiliate link - Affiliate Link removed by staff
Non-affiliate link https://hostkoala.com/

Now for your question - NVMe SSDs offer better read speed than normal SSDs. NVMe SSDs have a normal read speed of about 2000MB/s while SSDs have a speed of about 600MB/s and thus are faster this is because NVMe is a communication interface and storage protocol, not a storage media device i.e., at the end of the day the same SSD would store the data with a different connector.

One way to think of NVMe SSD and normal SSD would be to compare a HDD and an external HDD. The mounted HDD would perform better than one connected by a cable*. But overall there are a lot of different factors that affect page speed including location, caching, latency and even code. Practically if you were to have 2 identical sites in the same data center then NVMe would perform better.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. i've done a few survey and actually asked directly with some of the hosting companies more details about their NVMe plan. But sadly most of them apply limitation similar to normal ssd hosting such as IO & IOPS limit to just 1MB (which is standard for most normal ssd shared hosting). So its basically useless when they advertised NVMe but hiding the limit same as normal ssd...

I am using hostingways.com for 3 years already. they have servers in usa and europe and they run on LightSpeed as well.
The one in USA is on Ryzen 9, no inodes. Which is a rarity these days.
The one in Europe will be upgraded soon as well.

If you contact them they can make you custom plans as well (as i did).

Good luck

so far digital ocean works for me. They all have ssds. I manage it myself with virtualmin. for small sites, a 5 USD server can handle 10 (or more) websites rather than going for hosting of the same price with 50+ websites sharing the same IP, not to mention the limitations.
