My advice will be to get a reseller hosting package to start with, the lowest tier most hosting companies provide will get you a 25 cPanel limit which should be good for you. Later you can upgrade to a higher tier once get more customers. Running your own VPS without serious Linux system administration experience will not be easy, plus cPanel license fee will make it pricier. Some hosting companies offer WHMCS at a discounted rate for their resellers, you can avail that too if needed. Only when you have 100+ customers, you can consider a VPS or even a dedicated server. My plan is to get a good VPN and Get Cpanel and WMHC license for server management. I will prioritize Security, reliability, and performance but should be at the lowest cost possible. ( A shared Cpanel and WMHC licenses; I have seen a couple of Licenses sales threads here)

The reason why I'm sticking with CPanel is that all my clients are already too used to the current Cpanel setup including webmails and all that so I don't have the option of switching to another panel. Migration from Cpanel to Cpanel is smooth too with little or no downtime.

Did I say that I've never handled an unmanaged VPS? That's the way I want to go since the cost is much lower and I want to maximize the profit too.

I'm looking for advice from those who are in the same business or have handled a VPS for the best hosting company that will offer the best services at a minimal cost. I'm also looking for a service that I can seamlessly upscale as demand arise. (RAM and Diskspace)
