(Answered) How Update Null Theme or Plugin

Hi.
i have for example 3 plugins NULLED and theme NULLED

How can update theme or plugin when i have new version for the theme?
replace file from FTP? or there is something eles?

I would recommend via FTP - the other way is un-installing the old plugin/theme first, then uploading the new zipped version, but (!) at the risk loosing your settings as some plugins delete their data from the WP database during the uninstall process. Check in the plugins settings, if there is an option to keep the data on un-install, if not then better use FTP

i was try to update via FTP, i lost some settings.

It depends for plugin/theme structure.
Some plugins you could update easily via Plugin's Option page but some plugins you need carefully update via FTP.
If the plugin which i haven't using regularly i always backup plugin/theme's settings and replace new file to old file.

always welcome - to be on the secure side, check out this plugin:


Make a backup before updating, if something goes wrong you can restore everything with a few mouse clicks ;)(y)
It depends for plugin/theme structure.
