Hello to all.

Please give me your advice.

I have a website in English. Can I add other languages to my website, for example French, not using plugins such as WMPL and Translatepress?
Because I heard that they are not ideal.

So I can implement this by doing below:

I will create another pages with French language. For example, if my website is "mywebsite.com" french language will be on the page "mywebsite.com/fr/". And so on.. Header Menu also can be set up different for each page. I use Divi Theme, and it gives me such option.

Sorry for my poor English, I hope I could explain what I meant.

Than you for your help in advance!

The reason why I don't want to use plugins, I couldn't translate my Groovy Menu with the WMPL.

Hi,
Try this:
Hello there,

Welcome to WPML support forum.

Your plugin Groovy menuis not in our compatibility list, however it doesn't necessarily imply that it is not compatible, just that our team has not tested yet.
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/

1. So, it's possible that those strings have been recognized but not associated yet to the String Translation panel. For this, could you go to:
- WPML > String Translation
- Click on the blue link at the bottom of the page: "Translate texts in admin screens »"
- Look for an option similar to "groove_menu", or something like that. Here you should find all strings associated to your theme options.
- Check the checkbox for your strings of interest.
- Click on the button "Apply"
Now, all your selected strings, should appear in the String Translation panel

Reference :
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-theme-options/

2. To help you faster, I've enabled debug information for this support ticket. Please see this link for how to get this information from your site and give it to us:
http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

Best regards,
Andrés

In terms of a forum topic, i think you should clarify you want a wordpress multilanguage/multilingual website solution. Without plugins like WPML. And you dont want to use plugins because you cant translate another plugin that you are using...

As a wordpress guy i can say that your way of thinkin is not right at this point. There is no translatable plugin or theme on wordpress. You can simply edit php files to make strings translatable. But you are using Divi so u may not want to hassle with codes so you need a no code solution which is and must be a "plugin". Because if you create pages under domain.com/fr/like-lets-test-another-language and if you open that page then right click to see html source you will see the html tag <html> with an attribute of the languge. But not FR. It will be the main language of the wordpress. Because the way of wordpress languages works like this.

Actually i was laughin at the accounts with a fake profile picture of a lady but that topic was interestin enough for me(As an elder wordpress handler guy). I guess this is the reason im writin here :p

Hi,
Try this:
I will try, but I think, on that forum, where you found this, for that guy who asked this question, it didn't help.

In terms of a forum topic, i think you should clarify you want a wordpress multilanguage/multilingual website solution. Without plugins like WPML. And you dont want to use plugins because you cant translate another plugin that you are using...

Yes, briefly, it is what I want.

then right click to see html source you will see the html tag <html> with an attribute of the languge. But not FR. It will be the main language of the wordpress. Because the way of wordpress languages works like this.

Why should I look at the source file, if all of these match my needs? If it works, it's fine for me, and no need to look at source file.

Actually i was laughin at the accounts with a fake profile picture of a lady
Actually I was laughin at the accounts with a fake profile picture of a cat... but then I realize that it is not a dating platform and I understand that profile pictures of anybody doesn't have to bother me...

Yes, at this time I don't care about SEO at all. Because my website is dedicated for a certain number of people.

You dont need SEO, but you care about the performance of WPML and plugins highly cuz your website audience is a big community ? Like a website for a school / university ?

I don't care about performance, I said that with WMPL I can't translate my Groovy Menu. If I could translate it with plugins, it would be even better, but at this time I didn't succed in the translating of my menus.

Yes it is not a dating site :) But i simply laugh when people try to get answers with a picture of a girl. At first i laughed when i see your profile picture, like i laughed when i saw tomz's picture :p Neither yours or tomz's picture have not bothered me at all. But they all funy :p And even i find miserable that using girl pictures, despite i answered your question cuz i just wanted to join to forum topics. You can simply see this is the first topic that im in. Means your photo did not work actually :p

If you have Groovy licence u should ask to their support for multilanguage because i've never used groovy. Once i've compared it to others and it could not won.
If you dont have the licence simply search alternative plugins on babiato. I think i tried to help enough.

you can check the site maker of the theme and check if they have a translation for the file, if they do have it I think when I was looking at google there was a way to use WordPress core change language to use it for your own site and to make your site multilingual i will post it here when I find it

Wherever my imagination takes me
Of course you can simply copy all your pages and posts, translate them and then publish them under /fr/. The reason a translation plug-in comes in handy is that these plug-ins connect the translations and automatically provide links to the translated content of the page currently viewed.

That your Groovy Menu cannot be translated via a plug-in is not a reason to not use such a plug-in, Simply translate the menu manually and make sure the English version is on English pages and the French version on French pages. And keep them up-to-date. That's another feature of most translation plug-ins: they automatically synchronize menus between languages.
