Thank you so much @dgpalych for your very detailed help. I'll try it very soon. For now, I stick to the previous 19.0.1 version as the latest version is not really necessary. Hopefully, Yoast will fix that soon.

Critical error seems to be generated also when using the Yoast Local SEO v14.5 plugin (https://babiato.tech/threads/yoast-local-seo-for-wordpress-plugin-premium.280/page-7)
Disabling that plugin seems to fix the issue. Oddly, debug log shows nothing. Also noticed that the error only seems to show on websites which run the lastest versions of Yoast (nulled), Local AND WPML. I have another site which doesn't use WPML, and that has no errors.

I don't know if I got it wrong... but from what I saw, the plugin manufacturer got it wrong there. now it's waiting for the release of the corrected file. the current one, when I tested it here, took the site down. the same happened with other colleagues here.

I can only advise one thing:
1. Buy the licensed version;
2. Check the licensed version on VirusTotal.
3. Compare both test results.

Funny things these false positives, they been discussing this for years with Yoast and many other plugins, we should get @Tomz to put false positive on the naughty word list

one important thing that no one thinks about: antivirus manufacturers like False Positive in order to sell their product. if the antivirus doesn't detect anything, of course no one will buy the product. so the false positive will always exist. either by partnership with the manufacturer of the plugin or APP, or by false positive. this, to give the impression that the antivirus is good and catches "viruses" that other antiviruses don't.Same as what I was thinking, if that worried buy it and use genuine. Although, how much we want to bet that it still gets used.

Enhancements:
